We hope everyone had a joyful, healthy and blessed Christmas season. We started off the new year looking forward to what God is going to do through the CEF ministries and your dedication & service to Him.

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE
We are so excited to start off 2012 by announcing the re-opening of two Good News Clubs. In the Georgetown area, please join us in welcoming back KENSINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. We would like to thank Arnette Graham and her team who have worked hard on achieving this re-opening and allowing God's Gospel to reach the children. CONWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is also on it's way to spreading the Gospel again too. Please join us in prayer for all of our clubs and especially that God will meet the needs of these clubs and send many godly volunteers to them. LAST CALLTraining - TCE1 (Teaching Children Effectively) starts in February and it is almost at full enrollment. There is 1 more spot available, please be in prayer if that spot if for you. If your are interested in taking this course and would like more information/details, please contact Jackie in the office. What a blessing it will be for the children to have
6 more volunteers grow their knowledge in the teaching of CEF materials and techniques. BUT DON'T WORRY IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND THIS TRAINING...
We are excited as 2012 will bring more valuable training to our 20+ Good News Clubs. Individual GNC team meetings, individual club training on specific areas & methods, material workshops and our annual CMC training are some of the ways we'll be supporting and growing the clubs and their loving & dedicated volunteers - servers of the Lord.
We are looking for interns to help in our office over the summer. If you have a few hours a week to volunteer and would like to become involved with CEF, contact the office and we'll be glad to tell you more about how you can serve the Lord with us.
HIGHLIGHTS OF "2011"
* OFFICE - The Lord has answered the prayers from Jackie and the local committee and our supporters by making it possible for two new staff positions. Cindy Malick came aboard to help assist in the ministries of CEF in May and Dustin Ventura was named Director of the Pee Dee chapter in June. The office also welcomed two new board members - Mr. Kenny Tindal and Mrs. Lois Clardy.
* GOOD NEWS CLUBS - 22 schools, 24 clubs, teaching over 1500 children and reaching 374 children with salvation. PRAISE THE LORD and all the volunteers who dedicated their time, knowledge and love to God's children.
* CYIA - 4 summer missionaries, 1 week of training camp, over 20 5-day clubs and 22 salvations. One of our very own CYIA missionaries - Lauren Gross also experienced her first mission trip to CEF's Turks and Caicos ministry.
* EVENTS - Fellowship Dinner 2011: Coach Bennett along with others challenged those in attendance to support the work of the Lord through CEF to the children. From this event, CEF hired a new director and ministry assistant. The Lord also added to the board membership. We give God all of the Glory! More children will be reached because of those that accepted the challenge!
Golf Tournament 2011: The CEF Golf Tournament was held at Black Bear Golf Club in August 2011. Although rain suspended the tournament for a time, the teams were able to complete the tournament and everyone seemed to have a great time. To God be the Glory for the blessings He has given! CMC: The Children's Ministry Conference was originally scheduled for August 27, 2011, but a hurricane encouraged the CEF office to reschedule to September 16 & 17, 2011. Many utilized this great opportunity to enhance and strengthen their ministry to the children in the Good News Club. Mini-Conference: There were several Mini-Conferences held throughout 2011 for those that missed the CMC. We encourage everyone to plan to attend the next CMC on August 18, 2012. TCE 1: The first Teaching Children Effectively 1 for the Greater Pee Dee area was held one day a week for 12 weeks from February to May 2011. There were four participants and three instructors. We had a great time learning and growing together. The students were challenged to serve the Lord with excellence as they serve the children in the Good News Club. The instructors were encouraged in the Lord with His faithfulness and the dedication of the students He had placed in the class.
What an amazing year we had.
We are thankful for all that God has done in the Greater Pee Dee chapter. Praise God on High.
GOOD NEWS CLUB
Many clubs are starting up this month and next for the 2012 winter/spring session. Lessons on David, 1st Christians and/or Paul will set the stage for the children as they have fun while learning God's Word.
  
JAM - JESUS AND ME is a daily devotion for the children to spend time each day with God; these are similar to the Wonder Devotional Books. There are 6 GNC's starting the JAM program and we would like to wish them a successful start with it. If you would like to see the JAM materials and additional information on how you can start up JAM in your club, go to www.cefgpd.org or call the office.
EASTER lessons available - Judas's Choice and Always True-The Road to Emmaus - both are full lesson party packs full of ideas to teach the children about Jesus while having fun through activities, songs, and games. If your club would like to purchase a party pack, please call the office.
T-SHIRTS and other items - We have partnered with a new company to provide better prices. We can now offer our GNC blue t-shirts for about $5.00 a shirt, which is a saving of 50%. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE PART OF A LIFE CHANGING SUMMER MINISTRY? TAKE A LOOK BELOW FOR SOME DETAILS. We are now accepting applications for our CYIA summer missionary program. We would like to ask you for your help in spreading the word about this summer opportunity for youths ages 15 through college who love the Lord. Does your church have a youth group? Do you know any teens and their friends that you would like to see in this wonderful summer missionary program? This is a unique opportunity for teens/young adults to have a fun and productive summer as they learn to share God's word with local children through our 5-Day Clubs. Could you and would you encourage a teen or young adult to consider a summer on mission? Our missionaries enjoy great fellowship with each other during their week at camp, where they learn about being a missionary and effectively sharing God's Word to young children. This program can also help with summer employment for your child. Our individual missionaries find support through sponsors (church & family members) to help them with the cost and can also receive a stipend pay with the donations they collect. Prayer partners & Donators  As our youth do their part serving God we need to do ours. Please consider helping to support these young missionaries with prayer (see prayer section) and/or financial help with a monitery donation. Your donation will help provide our CYIA's with things like new materials for teaching, quick lunches between their clubs, or even gas. If you would like to help these young missionaries as they grow in Christ and share the Gospel this summer, please see "Ways to Donate" to send support to them.

That the Lord continues to open and work in the hearts of the children in our GOOD NEWS CLUBS and that the Holy Spirit is moving within our loving VOLUNTEERS to see God's Word in action through His Children.
Please commit with us to continue to pray this from January to the end of April as the GNC's are all actively building relationships with Jesus Christ and the children through the teachings of Bible lessons/concepts, songs and games.
We pray for God to send Christ like youths our way to be part of our CYIA team. Pray that these young adults may became great missionaries through their experiences with CEF and that many young children will be touched by God through our 5-Day clubs.Please pray diligently for youth volunteers to flood our office with their applications. This will enable us to build the teams needed to go out and minister to the children in our community. We ask for the Father's touch upon all who are suffering with illnesses, surgeries, and personal issues; only our Father knows each of our hearts and needs. Lord, replace our suffering with your JOY - the joy that comes from knowing you and walking in your light.

NEWS FROM THE NATIONAL
HEADQUARTERS "OPERATION MILITARY
CHILD UPDATE"
God has given us a
tremendous opportunity to reach the children of our military. Over this
past year, we have seen an increase in the number of installations and
communities that are being ministered to by CEF.
Currently, we are
conducting ministry at 22 locations, either on the installation or
outside the gate in the community. The fastest growing areas are
connected with local and state chapters which are catching the vision
and beginning a military ministry in their state.
Since September, we have been tracking the number of children who have a parent in the military and attend a Good News Club.
This has been accomplished through using a check box on the
registration form that is sent home to the parent. The three most
concentrated areas are Washington State with 215 children, North
Carolina with 197 children and Virginia with 170 children. The
statistical report shows CEF ministering to military children in 27 states/metro areas.
