ANNOUNCING...

Breast Cancer Survivor Train & Race Camp
Resort at Little Harbor
April 24-28, 2012

Presented by Florida's first Breast Cancer Survivor team:
Pink Dragon Ladies

This specialized dragon boat paddling training camp is being presented as an opportunity to all Breast Cancer Survivor teams, small groups and individuals.  The Pink Dragon Ladies held this camp last season for their own team, and are eager to share their experience with the greater BCS community this year!

Here's what the Pink Dragon Ladies had to say:

Sunset at Little Harbor

"I joined about 25 other Pink Dragon Ladies at a dragon boat camp in Little Harbor, FL,  last year.   It couldn’t have been a better experience!

The accommodations were very nice and affordable with beautiful views of the harbor and Florida sunsets. Our team had a chance to spend four days melding together with a full agenda that included training in paddling on dragon boats and outrigger canoes,  strength and aerobic  training, and wellness information sessions.  We had two 2-hour training sessions per day on the dragon boat with a top-notch coach who spent time with each individual as well as the group.

The experience greatly improved our paddling skills.  We went on to win at the Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Festival the following weekend, but more importantly, it made us a stronger, more cohesive team.  I would do it again in a heartbeat!"   - Connie Bainbridge, Pink Dragon Ladies

Little Harbor 2

"After 2 years of not winning the [Tampa] cup we developed our own PDL-inspired dragon boat camp at beautiful Little Harbor.  There were beautiful waterfront, affordable condos, activities and amenities including a beach.  We arranged a stringent training schedule with personal trainers, oc-1s, paddleboards and workouts, all interspersed with rigorous paddling sessions that really stepped up our stamina and performance.  All of which allowed us to come home, race and win the cup!"         - Diane Erler, Pink Dragon Ladies

Paddling at Little Harbor 2
This training camp will give new and seasoned BCS paddlers a great opportunity to work on their paddling technique, at a level that is suitable to each individual.  On land warm ups and exercises allow paddlers to participate in a way that is comfortable to them.  Each camper will receive individual instruction and attention from the camp staff to allow everyone to get the most out of their experience.

Pool at Little HarborThe 2012 BCS Camp will be held at the Resort at Little Harbor in Ruskin, FL.  Training will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday is a free day to rest up, visit Tampa, or enjoy the resort luxuries.  Saturday, all of the camp participants will race in the Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Festival in Downtown Tampa.

Little Harbor Room 2Ruskin is just a short distance from Tampa International Airport, and even closer to Downtown Tampa.  We are happy to help you with transportation recommendations during your stay.
