MUST TAKE ACTION TODAY (Monday, June 18th)!
A few weeks ago, the California Senate passed -- without a peep -- the revised version of the proposed law that would require cars to give bikes at least 3 feet when passing. Great news!
Now SB 1464 moves over the Assembly Transportation Committee -- chaired by Bonnie Lowenthal (not by Senator Alan Lowenthal, author of the Senate Bill -- it's confusing, we know).
TODAY: Please use
this quick and easy form to send a message to Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal, letting her know that you support SB1464. Let's get this law in place in California!
Thanks!

From The Imaginists...
"This summer marks our fourth year touring the Art is Medicine Show, the
one and only free, bicycle powered, bilingual touring show! This year's
show is,
The Garden of Earthly Delights. It features a garden
of plants and insects who activate to save their home, including:
Harold, the little white-faced clown beetle, Margarita, the tallest
flower in the world, and . . .La Tarantula. Injustice and ho-hum are
defeated!
Our show, as always, features music, the poetry of our patron saint,
Federico García Lorca, and a gaggle of mysterious suitcases. Open any
one of them to reveal a miniature theater, enriching the work of actors,
insects, arachnids, and flowers!"
The show tours parks throughout the summer. All shows are free, and the summer touring schedule will soon be posted at
www.theimaginists.org.Join us on June 30th at the premiere performance of The Art is Medicine Show at the Imaginists' super-fun season launch party. Admission to the event is $5 - $20 sliding scale. The party will be held at The Imaginists' studio at 461 Sebastopol Ave, Santa Rosa. 528-7554. SCBC will be organizing a short ride to the event, so please stay tuned for details!

OK, folks, we're not even close to being out of the woods regarding federal funding for biking and walking projects!
Congress continues to threaten to undo 20 years of hard-won progress that's made bicycling and walking safer and more accessible for many people, including those of us in Sonoma County. Without this funding, we are in big trouble when it comes to funding our community's visionary bicycle/pedestrian plan.
Please
read this blog post from League of American Bicyclists, and then
tell Congress you are among the 83% of Americans who want funding for bicycling and walking to INCREASE, not be eliminated.
Thank you for your continued action on this critical issue.
