This action only takes (less than) a minute. But our collective action could determine the future of bicycling projects in Sonoma County. Protect Federal Funding.
Many of you have taken action in recent weeks, calling your U.S. Representative to ask for support of bicycling and walking in the federal transportation bill. That's funding that could be used to build bike trails, lanes, and more, as well as to fund Safe Routes to School in Sonoma County.
Your pressure helped, as the terrible House bill BARELY made it out of committee.
But it did make it.
And now we're working with our partners from all around the Country to kill that bill.
We're asking for you to contact your representative (again!) and urge them to VOTE NO on the the House transportation bill. The full house is expected to vote in a matter of days.
But now the issue is heating up in the Senate, too. And we believe we have a chance at protecting bicycle funding in the Senate by urging our Senators to
support the bipartisan Cardin/Cochran amendment.
By
following this link, you can read more about the specifics and send messages to your federal elected officials. You can also send the link to your friends and family members anywhere in the United States and ask them to contact their members, too.
Please make your contacts and urge everyone you know to do so as well. We really can't emphasize enough the need for federal bicycle/pedestrian/Safe Routes to School in Sonoma County.
Please
keep the pressure on, and thank you for your action!
