SCBC welcomes new Outreach Director
It's official! SCBC is pleased to introduce you to Aileen Carroll, who on Friday joined the SCBC team as Outreach Director.
Aileen is a Bay Area native and new resident of Santa
Rosa. She has worked with the San Luis Obispo Bike Coalition as a volunteer and
most recently served on the Board of Directors for the Napa County
Bicycle Coalition. Since 2011, Aileen has been organizing Napa County's KIDical
Mass family bike rides as well as Napa Bike Fest. As a lifelong cyclist she is
a firm believer in the bicycle as one of the most direct and effective ways to
help improve the quality of life for all people, and to help soften human
impact on the environment. She received a degree in Graphic Communication from
Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Aileen is eager to give back to the place she calls
home and excited to start work with such a motivated and passionate group of
people.
You'll be able to reach Aileen as of March 11th at aileen@bikesonoma.org. Please give her a warm welcome!
When she returns from the Summit next week, Aileen will work with out-going Outreach Director Sandra Lupien to get oriented to SCBC's goings-on, and is excited to jump right in on preparing for National Bike Month/Bike to Work Day (May), The I Bike Sonoma County Century (June 22), and the Sonoma County Bicycle Expo (August 18).
Aileen has started off with a bang: she's at the National Bike Summit in Washington DC with Executive Director Gary Helfrich, and SCBC Board members Vicki Duggan and Tom Bahning. You can follow Aileen's tweets and posts from the Summit at BikeSonoma on both Twitter and Instagram, and on Facebook at Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition.
