Greetings Lawn Enthusiast,

This spring we want you to grow the lawn you deserve.  It is time to fight off disease and pests and take control of your lawn.  You do not have to live with unsightly bare spots and nasty weeds all over your lawn.  Remember the key to a healthy lawn is a strong foundation so let's look at the root of the problems many of you have been experiencing.

What is my best defense?

Your best defense against weeds, bare spots and disease is a healthy lawn.  Start by planting the best quality grass seed you can buy.  Our Black Beauty grasses are naturally dark-green in color, grows well in poor soils, grows roots up to four feet deep and are naturally insect resistant.  Another way to fight off bare spots and weeds is to improve the quality of your soil.  Applying Mag-I-Cal to your lawn this spring will not only balance the pH it will also release trapped nutrients in the soil which will help feed the grass.

Do you worry about the products you are putting on your lawn?  Do you have children and pets?  Have you considered an organic fertilizer?  Organic fertilizers with humates will help to increase root growth and nutrient uptake, enhance natural defenses, improve soil structure and water retention.  This spring try our Organic Lawn Fertilizer 8-3-1 if you are seeding or use Natural Beauty 10-0-1 if your town has a no phosphorus fertilizer regulation in place.  Both of these organic fertilizers are eco-friendly and safe to use where children and pets play.

Help! My lawn is covered in weeds!

Is your lawn covered in broadleaf weeds like dandelions?  Is crabgrass starting to creep up?   As temperatures rise and grass begins to grow so do the weeds.  If you do not need to fertilize your lawn but have a dandelion problem use our Lawn Weed Control.  This product does not contain fertilizer and controls over 200 broadleaf weeds like dandelions, clover and chickweed.  If you have to prevent crabgrass and need to fertilize your lawn use our Crabgrass Preventer plus Green-Up Lawn Fertilizer.  This product will control crabgrass before and after it germinates and give your lawn a good feeding.
