Greetings from San Francisco!
In addition to Open Studios I'm excited to share news about a number of other creative projects, including my new lynda.com course, and where you can see my artwork or meet up with me in person. For full details and links, please scroll below this quick bulleted summary:
My new "Artistic Painting" course is live at lynda.com.
New free videos from two lynda.com courses are now live on YouTube, including movies featuring artwork and artists from The Adobe Illustrator WOW! Booklet for June 2013 CC Release, and The Adobe Illustrator CS6 WOW! Book.
Hosting of Fall Artspan Open Studios, this Saturday and Sunday, October 26th & 27th.
My work is on exhibit in a two-person show at Cafe St. Jorge, in the SOMA Artspan Gallery, and in the "Tiny" show at the STUDIO Gallery.
In two San Francisco presentations I'll be demonstrating my creative workflow using digital tools: in a ticketed event at the VMA Conference at the Contemporary Jewish Museum on November 6; and, there will be a free evening with Bert Monroy and me at the Bay Area Photoshop & Illustrator User Group meeting on December 12 at Adobe.

New online video "Artistic Painting" course on lynda.com!
In a follow up to "Artistic Painting with Illustrator: Natural Media Brushes," my second "Artistic Painting" course, "Object-Creation Brushes," is now live on lynda.com. This course will help you discover how to paint and draw with Illustrator's powerful object-creation brushes that let you warp, bend, repeat, stretch, scatter and distribute objects along a path. Both courses are designed for Illustrator CC and CS6, and show you how to work with vector and raster brushes. You can see a bunch of free movies from the course link, and there are others posted to YouTube. Without a lynda subscription, and included in the free YouTube movies, are a pair that feature artwork and artists from my Adobe Illustrator CS6 WOW! Book and Adobe Illustrator WOW! Booklet for June 2013 CC Release. You can find playlists for all the YouTube movies related to my courses and books at Youtube.com/SharonSteuer, and sign up for 7 FREE days of lynda.com from lynda.com/trial/sharonsteuer. For more about the lynda courses go to sharonsteuer.com/lynda, and WOWartist.com for details about (and discount codes for) the Illustrator WOW! Books and booklet.
Art exhibits in San Francisco
This fall there are a number of opportunities to see my work in San Francisco. This weekend, October 26th and 27th, from 11am to 6pm, I’ll be joining many Workspace Limited artists in hosting Artspan's Open Studios (2150 Folsom St., bet 17th/18th). There's more of my artwork in a two-person show at Cafe St. Jorge at 3438 Mission St. (through November 15th, with a reception from 5 to 7pm on 10/28). Also, check out my collages in the Artspan SOMArts Gallery at 934 Brannan St. (through 11/10), and the STUDIO Gallery’s "Tiny" group show, at 1815 Polk St. (11/2 through 12/23).
Live presentations in San Francisco
On November 6, at the VMA Expressions conference hosted by the Contemporary Jewish Museum, I’ll be presenting “Pushing Beyond Creative Boundaries in the Post Digital Era,” (if you’re able to attend you can use the code SS for 15% off). On December 12th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Adobe (601 Townsend St.), there will be a special FREE evening of the combined Illustrator AND the Photoshop User Groups (Bay Area ILUG and San Francisco Area "Photoshop Till You Drop"). Old friend, fellow digital pioneer, and Photoshop guru Bert Monroy and I'll be demonstrating some of our favorite ways to integrate Photoshop and Illustrator into our artwork.
