Hello all, Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope all of you are enjoying a fun holiday break - it’s unbelievable to me that the Fourth of July weekend is already upon us, effectively marking just past the halfway mark for 2011! This newsletter is just a brief update about some upcoming shows that you might possibly want to include in your summer plans. We’ve also just finished wrapping up the first school year at the new Harlem School of Urban Music and Recording Arts; I’m including some links below to some of the amazing work performed by the students via a brief demo reel and some recordings we’ve done in the studio. CONJUNTO ROVIRA RETURNS- JULY 6TH II’ll be back on the west coast for a couple of weeks starting 7/6. That same day we’ll be getting Conjunto Rovira back together for a special appearance at our favorite night spot in the Bay Area - Shattuck Down Low. Doug Beavers, trombone & direction $5 Advance Tickets, $10 @ Door w/GILBERTO SANTA ROSA BIG BAND @ LINCOLN CENTER, NYC I’ll be a part of this awesome big band, fronted by the great “el Caballero de la Salsa”,Gilberto Santa Rosa.
