NightSeeing - Pioneer Square Alleys | September 24

Expand your innate superpower night vision!
JOIN the night walk through Pioneer Square with Leni Schwendinger, New York City based lighting artist and urbanist.

During NIGHTSEEING: Pioneer Square Alleys - a Light Talk & Walk, Schwendinger shows us how light shapes our world-illuminating and revealing unseen textures of Pioneer Square.  It also makes our spaces feel safe and inviting.

NightSeeing, Navigate Your Luminous City program raises awareness of light and shadow by walking in cities around the world --culminating in a more vibrant nighttime environment design.  She joins the SvR Design Company and Olson Kundig Architects team to create new alley surface deisgns for Pioneer Square as part of the Alley Corridor Project.

The project, led by the International Sustainability Institute with funding from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, will design a new,
authentic surface treatment that continues citizen-driven momentum and drives critical rethinking about the role of alleys within Seattle's historic heart.
The design will invite pedestrians and businesses to increase their use of these spaces.

JOIN us to learn more about lighting and explore ways to illuminate our alleys in creative and functional ways.
