POSSE helps SA Youth prepare for block party

Volunteers from Spurs Sports & Entertainment worked to clear community gardens with Team Up Challenge students

On July 24 the Volunteer POSSE (People of Spurs Sports & Entertainment) partnered with summer Team Up Challenge students from SA Youth as well as volunteers from Laurel Heights United Methodist Church and the Beacon Hill neighborhood association to spruce up the Beacon Hill Community Garden. Volunteers joined together to pull weeds, mow overgrown grass, lay down mulch and install several new garden beds to expand the garden.

The joint effort helped transform the garden into a safer and cleaner environment that the neighborood can take pride in. Immediately following the cleanup project, several neighborhood residents came out to attend a neighborhood block party!
