Dear Friends & Supporters,
Many of us used our summer vacations to put our work behind us. “Joseph,” a Gretta Scholar in nursing, used his newly-learned skills in assessing malnutrition to help a neighbor child while was he was on his break.

Joseph noticed that the child was exhibiting symptoms of malnutrition and approached the mother to learn more. She believed the child’s problems stemmed from witchcraft. Joseph was able to do an assessment of the child and counseled the parents, recommending locally available food that would help. Within a week, the child began to show improvement.

Joseph sends his thanks to TGF and our supporters for the knowledge and skills that allowed him to help this child!
