Organic Islands Festival 2010
The VCSC and 10 volunteers attended the Organic Islands Festival at Glendale Gardens. Our goal was to spread the word about car sharing and recruit members. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for helping make this event successful.
Emergency Services Changing
Effective September 1st, all emergency services will be handled by our 24/7 call centre. We are phasing out the emergency pager, and hope that the single telephone contact point will simplify member service. One phone number and 24/7 support for bookings, cancellations, extensions, and emergency support. More details to follow.
On Car Bike Racks Installed on FF Cube and FW Rio
These rack systems can accommodate three bikes. Manuals for using these bike racks have been placed in the trunk utility kits. Please ensure that you fold the racks back down after use. The Cube's rack is permanently installed, and the Fernwood Rio rack must be installed for every use (please see booking confirmation email for instructions). Let us know how these racks are working for you.
Monthly Board Meeting
Our next monthly board meeting is taking place on Thursday, August 26th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. All members are welcome to attend this meeting. We will no longer be holding monthly open houses at our office.
Financial Reviews and Audits
We will be conducting a financial audit and/or review in the upcoming year and would like to do this at the most reasonable cost possible. If any members have suggestions or contacts to have this work done, please contact our office.
Scrap-It
We have helped Victorians scrap over 40 older polluting vehicles in exchange for car sharing credits. This program is reducing greenhouse gas emissions in B.C. by providing alternative transportation options. If you or anyone you know has an older car, refer them to Scrap-It.
