We Can't get Enough Kate!

kate-bw

Gertrude's love of Kate Carroll de Gutes began with us asking her to be the guest editor for our 2017 CNF chapbook contest after reading her amazing essay collection (and choosing it for the GERTIE book box). She was such a joy to work with - and brings with her such a solid footing in the LGBTQ lit world (plus she promised to grill us oysters one day!), that we asked her to be our new CNF Editor!

She is replacing Allison Tobey, who is moving up to be our Managing Editor, in charge of being in charge.

Welcome aboard, Kate! Now, about those oysters...

Sneak Peek: PLEASE FIND US

See it before you can read it -->

We are thrilled to unveil Wendy Oleson's cover art for her collection, PLEASE FIND US, which won our 2017 Fiction Chapbook Contest (judged by the illustrious Robert Hill).

                            * * *
According to Kathy Fish, author of Together We Can Bury It: “These stories are breathtaking, astonishing explorations of that sliver of space between light and dark, and the truths that lie therein. Wendy Oleson writes with uncommon intelligence, originality, and candor."

We obviously agree.

CONGRATS AGAIN, WENDY!

And for you aspiring chapbook winners, our 2018 contests will be live in a few more months, so get those submissions ready! We will notify you in another news-ditty.

Yes, Books are Perfect Valentines!

Not sure what to get your beloved for the much loved and/or much mocked Valentine's Day? Well, nothing says "let's read in bed" like a book.

On that, we at Gertrude are always on the hunt for thoughtful, experience book reviewers.
You can either email us and suggest a title that you feel deserves recognition (preferably a new release) OR you can send us your resume and ask to be added to our troop of reviewers.
We will select books that match your preferences to review and send them to you.
Simple.

Email our Book Reviews Editor here if you are interested!
