oikos and Cross Cultural Management
To provide insights on cross cultural management, we brought our community together for the LEAP-KEE webinar on the topic. We introduced frameworks that help interpret different cultures and offer some direction on how to respond to unfamiliar cultural situations. Moreover, we sat with oikos alumni to learn about their cross cultural experiences and discussed oikos perspective on cross cultural management.

30 Seconds with...
Meet LEAPers from the oikos LEAP Advanced Track 2017/2018
In June, the oikos LEAP Advanced class 2017/2018 officially bid farewell to the program. But for many of the participants the LEAP journey continues as they decided to coach new LEAP class in 2018/2019. This month, some of them shared insights on their LEAP experience.
Friedrich Hilgenfeldt (Fred): LEAP is like a spaceship taking you on a journey through the wonders of life, human interactions, your own personality, your dreams, goals and fears. On this spaceship I got the opportunity to challenge my views, values and perceptions on things like success, confidence and money; I got the opportunity to ask, where those perceptions come from and to question them. My view on leadership has changed from a leader having to direct and guide subordinates to a leader who empathically creates environments in which people can flourish and unfold their true potential.
Kathrin Zirn: LEAP gave me inspiration and enabled me to start a journey of purpose. Now, I have a better understanding of my own strengths and beliefs, and I can more easily understand others'. I realized that I became a better communicator, I judge less, I am more grateful, open and at peace with myself than ever before. I understand that only by truly being content with ourselves, we can actually treat other people well. Thus, this self-discovery program was so essential to help us, participants, become responsible leaders. This journey has only just begun. I want to become a LEAP coach, I have learned and received so much from the program that I would really love to give back something.
Svante Bengtsson: My participation in the LEAP Advanced has been one of the greatest experiences I've had. Never before have I worked so much on my personal development... I think, this is an experience everyone should be a part of. At schools there is so much focus on acquiring knowledge about the world around you, but not about yourself, and LEAP filled that gap. I've received so many tools for self improvement that I even haven't had the time to apply them all in my daily life yet. The program has opened my eyes to how much I can change and become the person I want to be.
Vladimir Leuridan: The LEAP Advanced rushes into your life without warning yet it feels like this was the most obvious course of action. This program has been tailored to every human being willing to turn into a “human becoming”, i.e. it suits every person, who wishes to discover new perspectives on a journey through their soul and mind. LEAP helped me understand who I am and why I act in the way I do. It was the beginning of a process in which change is made possible through deep awareness. Now, I feel empowered by all the things I learned, and I am able to make better decisions when it is needed the most.
