30 seconds with...
Astrid Bonk , CEE Meeting 2015 Organiser, oikos Vienna member
Last year when I started my master in Environmental and Sustainability Management I was looking for a way to put the learned theory into practice. That was when I first heard about oikos and it sounded exactly as a kind of organisation I was looking for. So I decided to give it a shot and see how I like it.
Fast forward a year later I’m not only still with oikos Vienna but more committed than ever as member of the local board. What truly convinced me to dedicate my time and energy to oikos is the great community - both in Vienna and international! Therefore, it was a great pleasure to be also one of the organisers of the CEE Meeting 2015.
As oikos Vienna is a rather young chapter (we just recently celebrated our third birthday) we did not host any international events before but we thought it was a great way to give back to the oikos community.
If truth be told, the planning process was not always easy and it was more work than we anticipated. However, in my opinion it was worth it as I personally learned a lot and I really enjoyed working together with the rest of the organising team (special thanks to Anna, Melanie, Michi, Lena and Sandra!). But most importantly, I loved the chance to meet and spend time with so many fellow oikees from CEE.
Thank you to all who joined us in Vienna, I hope you had a great time and I’m already looking forward to the FutureLab!
PS: If you interested what we did during the CEE Meeting 2015, check out our participants’ diaries on the oikos Vienna Blog.
