Winter School: Applications are now open
Applications for the oikos Winter School 2019 are open! oikos members and alumni, as well as undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world and all walks of life, are welcome to join the Winter School on urban development. Discuss the issue of growing cities and accompanying responsibilities with like-minded people from 17th to 23rd March 2019.

Cases Program: Encouraging innovative teaching
The oikos Cases Program supports the development of high-quality cases on sustainability topics that stimulate innovative teaching and learning experiences. oikos NYC: Understanding the environment and the law
How can the law apply to climate change? oikos NYC hosted a talk featuring Professor Randall S. Abate, who spoke about the legal aspects of a warming world. His discussion focused on how the law can protect the most vulnerable - future generations, wildlife, and natural resources - under climate change. This presentation was based on Professor Abate’s forthcoming book by the same title, which will be published by in August 2019.

oikos Leipzig: oikos book presentation and discussion
About a year ago, an oikos book about the alternative approaches to economic growth was published thanks to the efforts of the oikos Leipzig team. On 25th January they welcomed Katja Kipping, one of the authors of the book and the chairman of the party Die Linke (the Left), to a discussion in Leipzig, Germany. She talked about the book as well as about the topic of unconditional basic income. Learn more about the book here.

30 seconds with Stefano Ramelli
Stefano Ramelli joined oikos 3 years ago when he became a PhD fellow at the Department of Banking and Finance of the University of Zurich, Switzerland. As his fellowship came to an end in January 2019, Stefano looked back at his oikos journey in this thoughtful letter, where he reminisced his encounter with the organization and talked about his plans moving forward.

Join our FutureLab 2019 Organizing Team
We are looking for a passionate group of oikos members and alumni to help us organize the next FutureLab conference in 2019. You will get a chance to work with an international team, gain new skills in project development and communications, as well as meet inspiring, renowned professionals both before and during the event.
