Natalie Beinisch, Academic Network Manager at UNPRI and co-organiser of the oikos PRI Finance Academy
I run the Academic Network at the Principles for the Responsible Investment (PRI) and have had the pleasure of working with oikos for two years. For those of you who are wondering, the PRI is a network of over 1000 investment organizations representing over thirty trillion dollars of assets under management who promote the integration of sustainability information into investment processes. It is a monumental task, and the Academic Network is an essential part of this. My job is to promote and communicate research which helps us to better understand when and how responsible investment strategies lead higher returns or better risk management outcomes. I have the opportunity to work with researchers and universities from across the world and one of the organizations we partner with is oikos, with whom we hold the annual oikos PRI Young Scholars Finance Academy. In my view, the academy is fantastic - not only have we succeeded to build a community of scholars whom we believe will change the path of research and teaching, we also have the chance to work with oikos students. This year we worked with an oikos student reporter who created a series of podcasts which will be used by the Academic Network and the PRI. When I am not consumed by work, I am studying in the final throes of my PhD at the London School of Economics. You can also find me out running somewhere in London.
