Welcome to the first official Ottsworld Newsletter for February. A place where you can get the latest monthly updates on my travels, writing, photography, and whatever else I may be interested in. All delivered to your inbox!
Where in the world is Sherry? I'm in Minneapolis currently, but dreaming of my next travels. I feel like Tiger Woods going without sex...Ottsworld without travel is going to have to seek therapy soon. However, my time in the US has allowed me to see lots of old friends! Keep updated - I may be coming your way soon!

Writing
What will you be doing when you are 73 years old? Do you think you'll be able to climb to 17, 770 ft? I've been busy writing about my hiking travels in Nepal with my father. This has been a great way to share that you are never too old to do anything! I've been releasing a chapter per week from my journal, the Blogvel (Blog+novel) is more than half complete! Catch up with all of the ups and downs of the Tiger Balm Tales.
My most popular chapters from Tiger Balm Tales
In addition to the Tiger Balm Tales, I've been busy covering many other travel subjects on Ottsworld and in Guest Posts on other sites:

Photography
I've started a new weekly feature - Photo of the Week - check it out!
Think photography is easy? Think again and read my recent guest post on Travel
Photography Challenges - for JRCustomization.
While stateside, I've also tried to find some photography inspiration as I spend a cold winter in the midwest. Warning - these photos may make you cold!

Personal
I'm still getting acclimated back into the US. Each day I seem to be overwhelmed by the variety of choices and the sensationalism of the news. Trust me, reverse culture shock is real...I'm living it.
I have been busy honing my Asian cooking skills for friends and family! I still suck at cooking rice though; I'm worthless without a rice cooker! I have been able to find a great Asian market - in St. Paul Minnesota of all places!
I also just celebrated a momentus birthday in Feb. It was a great chance to reflect on the past and look forward to my future. I've been reading a lot about the Art of Noncomformity from Chris Guillebeau. I think he's my new hero. As some of you know, I always had a card on my office desk that read "Conform and Be Dull"...pretty much my life motto.
Regarding my future...I'm dreaming of where I'll travel to next. I have a few crazy ideas which will hopefully develop over the next few months and with any luck I'll be doing some amazing travel and living in the years to come!
