Late Deadline: 21-Day Competition
We are now in the last two weeks
for Team Signups and Filmathon submissions for 2010! Already we have our
largest and most diverse group of films and filmmakers.
ALL films completed by the August 21st
deadline receive their World Premieres at the International House's 350-seat Ibrahim Theater in Philadelphia as a part of P21Fest 2010.
You will also compete for awards and prizes, including inclusion on the
2010 Project Twenty1 DVD, acceptance to IMDB, and submission to over a
dozen other festivals nationwide on your behalf! 21-Day Films have been
screened in over 20 other festivals through our Festival
Partners.
For more
info or to sign up, see our 21-Day Competition pages.
Late Deadline: Philadelphia Filmathon

Our call-for-entries is almost over for the Philadelphia Filmathon! Got a film? Want it on imdb? Want it sent
to other festivals for FREE on your behalf? We accept all films, short form and feature, narrative,
documentary, experimental, music video, you name it, no matter WHEN you
made it, and you will not find a better value for your entry fee
ANYWHERE. How so, you ask?
We're an IMDB-qualifying
festival! Submit to us through WAB, your film gets its own imdb
page, the best resume you can have in the film industry.
Low Entry Fees: Even during this,
the Late Deadline of July 21st, Entry is only $50 for features, $35 for shorts, and $25 for
students. (And even cheaper for WAB members!)
Great Prizes: Winners of Best Short
Film and Best Feature Film will win prizes from Sony Creative Software, Final Draft, and QuickFilmBudget, among
others. Click here for
full prize details. We're updating it weekly with new stuff!
Our Film Library. Submit ANY project, short film,
feature, animation, live-action, music video, whatever, to the 2010
Filmathon, and you have the option to enter it into our Film Library,
which gives us the ability to submit it on your behalf to our partner
organizations, screenings, and festivals, saving you time & money
and possibly qualifying you for tons of awards and prizes indefinitely.
This year, over two dozen films from our Library have screened with our
Festival Partners at no entry cost to our filmmakers thanks to this
program.

Launch Event
 Our biggest
event of the year outside of P21Fest in October, and your
best chance to join a Team.
Teams
of filmmakers and animators only have 21-Days to create an original
short starting August 1st, and they need YOU to help them. Bring
business cards, demos, writing samples, reels, and headshots and get
involved! The best part is, nearly everybody there WILL be making a film
in the three weeks that follow, so meet enough people, and you're bound
to end up working on at least one film this August.
The Launch Event
will conclude with a brief rules refresher, followed by the reveal of
this year's "Element" that all the 21-Day films must include. Attendees
are welcome to hang out as late as they want to strategize their next
three weeks. Check out clips from last year's Launch Event!
All completed films will
screen at a REAL movie theater. Top films will receive DVD
distribution, compete for over $1,000 in prizes from Sony Creative, and
get submitted to partner festivals all over the world.
21+ can enjoy CHEAP drink
specials. Win hundreds of dollars in door prizes from Dymo and Sony
Creative Software!
Special thanks to North Bowl for
hosting what is sure to be a kick-ass event. Hope to see you all there!
Life in a Day
It looks like Ridley Scott is teaming up with Kevin Macdonald and YouTube to produce Life
In A Day, a feature film that asks, "What did you do on July 24, 2010?" The aim of this historical documentary is to capture a glimpse of the entire world during one 24-hour period. On top of your normal day-to-day activities, the director has asked the world the following questions: - What do you love?
- What do you fear?
- What makes you laugh?
- What's in your pocket?
Twenty lucky contestants will have their footage appear in the final feature film which will premiere at Sundance 2011. Submission guidelines and additional information can be found on the Life in a Day Channel. Since ya'll have access to some pretty nice cameras and some very interesting lives, we thought you should know. Make sure you save us a seat next to you at Sundance. :)
Get To Know Our Teams
Last year, Team Justice Productions took home the 21-Day Competition Best Marketing Award through their poster campaign, online marketing, and of course their entertaining Podcasts. This series proved how Project Twenty1 film productions are like reality TV...without the remote. It looks like several Teams have already started their podcasts for the season, including a tongue-in-cheek smear campaign between Team Toxic Avengers and Team Sickening Thud. Team Tonic Avengers VideoTeam Sickenening Thud's ResponseWe've been also hearing a lot of buzz from Team Taco vs. Grilled Cheese from Asbury Park, NJ through the Craig Mahoney Podcast. Aside from learning about their production plans, you can also listen to a fantastic interview with the famous Jerry Beck, animation historian, author, and all around awesome guy! We'll be posting more over the next few months on our 2010 Team podcast
channel so you can stay on top of their progress, give your feedback, and get involved! Do you have a Team introduction video, website, poster, P21 Blog Entry, or related Podcast you would like us to share with our followers? Let us know! We'll pick Teams to randomly feature on this newsletter, as well as RT & repost any cast & crew needs to our Twitter/FB.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Yuhas, Executive Producer Matt Conant, Artistic Director & All the Susie Filmmakers
