Food Drive The Student Council challenges each student to bring in at least 3 non-perishable food items to their homeroom from Tuesday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 21. Learn about the grade level competition.

Help Fill Gift Bags  The 6th, 7th and 8th graders have an ambitious goal of filling 45 reusable "Grown-up Gift Bags" for adults in need of some seasonal cheer.  Read more about how you can help fill the bags which Common Pantry will distribute.

Celebrate Bell's School's Birthday and our outstanding Bell community by attending the 95th Birthday Bash! This great party will be the culmination of the Wish List. Please consider giving a birthday present to Bell School with a donation in February to the 2012 Wish List.

All money raised through the Wish List supports next year's academic, artistic, athletic and all-around amazing school programs. Detailed descriptions and donation forms for Bell's Wish List items will be available in early 2012. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please email

Pick the Flick: Vote for Your Movie Choice

Students, for the first time ever you have the chance to choose the movie for movie night! Movie Night is February 2, 2012, but voting ends at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, so don't forget to vote early and often. Vote online for your choice of Mr. Popper's Penguins, Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World, and Dolphin Tale.

Peter Pan Auditions Next Week

Auditions for the Sign Voice Theatre production of Peter Pan will take place at 3 p.m. in the music room on Monday and Tuesday, December 12-13. Students in 5th-8th grade are eligible to try out and must turn in a signed permission slip. If your paper copy got lost, download a permission slip. Peter Pan will be directed by two teaching artists from Lookingglass Theatre, Katy Boza and Levi Holloway. Read more about Peter Pan.

Holiday Shopping Help from Bell Bucks

Stop by school Friday morning, December 16 to do last-minute holiday shopping.
  • Need a gift? The Bell Bucks table will be stocked with a large variety of gift cards including iTunes, Amazon, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and Visa Prepaid Card along with the usual offerings.
  • Feeling charitable? Bell Bucks is the best place to purchase gift cards to donate to the gift bag project described in the sidebar.
  • Planning a holiday party? Pete’s Pizza, O’Donovan’s and Jury’s all give 20% to Bell Bucks and their gift cards will also be available.

LSC Elections Coming Next Spring

The Local School Council election will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. (This is Report Card Pick-up Day.) Please consider running for one of the six Parent positions on the LSC. If you do not want to run for a position on the LSC, then please consider applying to be an Election Judge.
