From the fields of Michele Ferrante, Contadino in Controne, come these richly flavored cherry tomatoes with just a touch of salt. They are cultivated in the unique terroir of the Alburni Mountains, between Campania and Basilicata. Rich in vitamins and minerals, they are a mainstay in the local cuisine, used frequently for pasta dishes, antipasti, and even baked into breads. Soak for about 20 minutes in lukewarm water before using in a variety of recipes - or they are delicious all by themselves.
These are packed dry, not in olive oil like most sundried tomatoes you find on the shelves today. They thus have greater flexibility in your kitchens and recipes.
