Message from CMC North President - April Goodman-Orcutt
In February, Rebecca Lewis, President-Elect for CMC-North, hosted a Leadership Conference for the Northern section in Santa Rosa. Tim Kanold conducted a full day of reflecting and working on our mission as affiliates and how we can grow and serve our members in a higher capacity. Almost all of our affiliates attended and we will be asking them to report out on their work in the interim at our May meeting in a couple of weeks. Board officers have agreed to support their local affiliates and attend events and meetings a few times a year. Some officers are traveling to attend affiliates outside of their area, in order to reach all affiliates. If you would like more information on your local affiliate you will find it here.
The theme for this year’s Asilomar conference is: Getting at the Core of Mathematical Practices. This year’s conference is being held on thesecond weekend in December: December 11-13, 2015. This is a one-time occurrence and we will be back to our first week in December for 2016. Speaker proposals are not being accepted at this time, but we are still accepting applications for exhibitors. You can find the application and information here. Please pass this information on to any interested parties or companies you think would be beneficial to our conference.

Participants must be available to complete 10-15 hours of self-paced online training, and must be prepared to begin developing resources, by mid-June 2015. The deadline for submitting the SNE application is Friday, May 22, 2015.
A link to the SNE application is available on the CDE Digital Library Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sa/diglib.asp. Questions should be directed to Jennifer Houle in the CDE Assessment Development and Administration Division at email@example.com.
