Registration for the CMC South Conference in Palm Springs November 6 & 7 is now open.

CMC North Conference


Registration for the CMC North Conference in Pacific Grove/Asilomar December 11 - 13 is scheduled to be open by August 25.

Grants to support student-centered activities in mathematics are available from the Student Activity Trust Fund.  Examples of past activities supported by SATF include Family Math Nights, Math in the Mall, Math Field Days, Math Olympics, Student Math Conferences, Robotic Competitions and Math related fieldtrips.   Deadline to apply for a grant is September 25.  See for an application. 

Host Your Own Family Math Event This Year!


The beginning of a new school year is the best time to get your parents on board with your Common Core based math programs—and hosting a Family Math event is one of the best ways to do this. Yes, it is extra work, but the payoff is HUGE. Parents will better understand the new things you’re trying to do in math classes if you give them an opportunity to experience hands-on, problem-solving based activities with their children right at your school. And those parents will become your advocates for good mathematics for the rest of the year!

45-Day Public Review and Comment on the California English Language Development Standards Augmentation Documents for Mathematics.  

The public is invited to review and comment on the California English Language Development Standards (CA ELD Standards) draft augmentation documents from July 17, 2015, to September 17, 2015.  
The CA ELD Standards draft augmentation documents are designed to be used in tandem with the California standards for mathematics, science, English language arts, and English language development, the English language arts/English Language Development (ELD)  framework as well as their corresponding frameworks. 
Take a look at the math document if you have questions, concerns, suggestions let them know.
The 45‒day public review and comment period is open from July 17, 2015, to September 17, 2015.

We are lucky to have both of the national math conferences in our region next year. Housing opens August 25 for NCSM and August 26 for NCTM and registration for both conferences later this fall. The latest information is available on the NCSM and NCTM websites.
