Lecture I: Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Introduction to the Orthomolecular Approach

Presented by Talya Rotem, MA

International Schizophrenia Foundation

This presentation will offer a basic introduction to Orthomolecular Medicine, an approach that uses diet and supplementation to address nutritional deficiencies that may cause mental illness such as schizophrenia and anxiety. A screening of the 15-minute highlights version of the ISF's documentary Masks of Madness: The Science of Healing will follow the presentation.

Mental Health Regained

Presented by Lorraine Stuyt, BSc, ND
Armstrong Clinic for Naturopathic Medicine

This presentation will look at specific neurotransmitter deficiencies, hormonal imbalances and environmental influences related to mood disorders with greatest emphasis on depression. An introduction to dealing with these issues, improving health status and resolving symptoms using nutritional therapy.
