The Lesbian Tent Revival-Friday, January 14

fire 2

Sister Carolyn of the Sisterhood of the Sacred Synapse is rolling into Milwaukee’s LGBT Community Center  on January 14 with her hilarious, soul-saving Lesbian Tent Revival! The smash-hit of the 2010 Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, the Revival has been drawing hundreds of lesbians to “services” that combine side-splitting comedy with a razor-sharp politics, as Sister Carolyn preaches the gospel of old-time, feel-good, smash-the-patriarchy sisterhood.

“Sister Carolyn” in another incarnation is the internationally acclaimed playwright and performer Carolyn Gage, author of twelve books and fifty-five plays. Gage takes the business of saving lesbian souls seriously: “Lesbians have been seriously sidelined in the queer movement, and there is a real need for us to come together to celebrate our hilarious selves, to focus on the issues that are priorities for us, and to roll up our sleeves and remember that we have a lot of converting to do!”
Join Sister Carolyn and Sister Tara Ayres for an evening of irreverent, hilarious, rabble-rousing, rompin', stompin' sermons and songs, reviving our lesbian lives and celebrating our lesbian lusts!
