Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic is a beautiful country and a frequent tourist destination of US citizens.  Dominican Republic is partner to the Hague Convention. 


Age Range Available for Adoption: Available children range from toddlers to teenagers.  However, most children are over age 3.  Children with special needs, older children, and sibling groups are available for adoption.

 

Adoption Travel: One trips of 30-60 days is required to adopt from Dominican Republic.

 

Basic Requirements for Adopting Parents: Married Couples are invited to apply.  Married Couples should be between 30-60 years old and must be 15 years older than the child they wish to adopt.


Dominican Republic adoption program is a developing adoption program at Adoption ARK.  Grants are available for the first 5 families.

Dear Friend,

Ask anyone that has been involved with International adoption and they’ll tell you that the last several years have seen many changes; some good, some challenging.  Most notable is the implementation of the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption.   To date, over 75 countries are partners to the Hague Adoption Convention and several more are in the process of implementation.  What does the Hague Adoption Convention mean to a prospective adoptive parent?  Better safeguards and a more open adoption process regulated by a central authority.  As a Hague Accredited Adoption Agency, Adoption ARK represents several countries that are partners to the Hague Adoption Convention.

 

Bulgaria

Bulgarian orphans 140Children available for adoption in Bulgaria range from toddler age to teenagers.  Adoption timeframes are shorter for parents that choose to adopt older children or children with special needs.  Adoption ARK is searching for a family for a little boy with Down Syndrome.  Contact us today for more information.

Other, non-Hague adoption programs at Adoption ARK are open to prospective parents.

  • Ghana hasn’t been open long but Adoption ARK has already seen several homecomings!  Adoption ARK is looking for adventurous families for the Ghana adoption program.
  • Uganda is a developing adoption program.  At this time, Adoption ARK is working closely with a legal team in Uganda to get this program organized and moving.  Although this program has had setbacks, the need is overwhelming.  So many orphans are waiting.
  • Russia is the most popular adoption program at Adoption ARK.  Our long history in Russia and our proven track record in adoptions makes Adoption ARK an agency favorite for this program.  Grants are available for special needs children and older children.
  • Ukraine is changing their adoption process but, to date, it's moving forward.  Adoption ARK has several families in the adoption process and is accepting applications for the Ukraine program.
  • Kazakhstan is in the process of implementing the Hague Adoption Convention and is currently on hold.
