Hajj Packages 2014 Price Hikes Warns by Saudi Ministry
The Saudi ministry in charge of religious pilgrimages has warned of tough penalties for hotels and tour companies that artificially inflate prices during the upcoming Haj season.
The Hajj Ministry also warned businesses to keep their prices affordable.
This year it has started allocating Hajj accommodation earlier in a bid to maintain price stability.
The warning follows revelations last year that Hajj companies had unjustifiably hiked up prices.
A committee has been established to monitor prices. Millions of Muslims participate in the Haj and Umrah pilgrimages to Makkah, the holiest place in Islam, each year. (Source Arabian Business)
