An Evening with Former Governor David Paterson,
Tuesday, April 18, 2017
6:30 to 8 p.m.
Scarsdale High School

David Paterson Be sure to register now and mark your calendar for this special event with an engaging and fascinating leader. Please note that admission is free for high school students and younger.

Paterson comes prepared to share stories of his own interactions with President Trump and his thoughts about the relationships between politicians, their appointed staff members, and journalists. He will also reflect on his experiences growing up blind while being educated in a public school system before the enactment of many current laws that protect the rights of disabled students.

The evening lecture will include ample time for "no holds barred" questions and answers as Hon. Paterson provides insights and predictions for New York State.

We also hope you saw our dedicated eblast to come to our upcoming Tales from the 'Dale and Beyond (aka True Suburban Stories -- Told Live) on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, starting at 7 p.m. at Heathcote Elementary School, 26 Palmer Avenue in Scarsdale. Modeled after the wildly popular NPR series the Moth, SAS’s own live storytelling event will feature a multi-generational mix of local luminaries, former Scarsdale residents, and award-winning storytellers for a heartwarming and often hilarious program of true yarns. Admission is free for high school students and younger to this event as well.

Please note the following updates to our catalog that post-date the printed mailing:

Just added to the online catalog is Arts of the Revolution: Modern Arts in Cuba Before and After Fidel (Course 5239), on Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Bronxville Public Library. Jerrilynn Dodds, Professor of the History of Art at Sarah Lawrence College and distinguished lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, will deliver the lecture. She will cover Cuban Modernism as one expression of Cuban identity before the 1959 Revolution and she will trace the historical connection between Cuba's unique artwork and the political activism within the artistic community.

Irving Penn press-image-picThe Walking Tour: Irving Penn Centennial Exhibition at the Met (Course 4986) has been moved to April 28, 2017, as a result of the museum's decision to delay the exhibit's opening date.
