  Hello {FIRST_NAME},

Summer at Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts

Believe it or not, the time has come to start thinking about summer.  Here is a listing of our great summer camp options:

Musical Theater Camp:

This year's theme is All Roads Lead to Broadway. We'll take a look at the different places shows come from: movies, the library, the radio, and real life!

Morning Session - In the morning we participate in skill-based classes in dance, acting and musical theater.

Lunch - During nice weather we will eat on the patio at Zita's; campers can bring money for ice cream.

Wildcard Session - After lunch there will be a "wildcard" session in which we do something different each day. Some days may include: meeting with a casting agent; master class with a star from a Broadway show; creating posters for our performance; costuming workshop; playwriting workshop; and many other exciting things.

Afternoon Session (Performance Workshop) - For the last two hours of camp we will be in our Performance Workshop, where we will be preparing for our performance which will be held on the Friday night at the end of each session.

Jazz Camp:

At Jazz Camp we perform material from the greatest composers in American music: Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver and much more. We also learn about improvising - at Jazz Camp everyone takes solos! Jazz Camp culminates in a performance at Crossroads in Garwood.
Group I: Grades 6-8, Group II: Grades 9-12

Rock Camp:

At Rock Camp we perform popular music from greats like The Beatles, AC/DC, Aerosmith, James Brown and much more. All students are also encouraged (but not required) to be singers as well! Rock Camp culminates in a performance at Crossroads in Garwood.
Must have one year of playing experience. Grouping based on experience.

All-Girl Band Camp:

All-Girl Band Camp is for girls only - with music by girls only! We perform music by Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Blondie, and much more. All-Girl Camp culminates in a performance at Crossroads in Garwood.
Must have one year of playing experience. Grouping based on experience.

Here's what we've been talking about lately at "Elefante on Entertainment":
The Gateway Game - Activision, maker of the video game sensation Guitar Hero, announced on February 9th that it will no longer be making the game.
Too Much Public Theater? - Brand new National Endowment for the Arts Chairman and perennial firebrand Rocco Landesman made some typically controversial comments at a conference in Washington last week.
