Estimad@ Amig@ {FIRST_NAME},

On July 30th, we had our first hardhat construction tours of Plaza Roberto Maestas. On that day, Employees Community Fund of Boeing presented a generous $500,000 check to support the building of Plaza Roberto Maestas. Mil gracias to Mayor Ed Murray for sharing his kind words at the event and for buying a brick! Watch the King County TV coverage of the event here.

As the construction on our affordable housing complex continues, we ask that you support us by buying a plaza brick. The money raised from our  Brick by Brick Campaign will help us raise the last vital funds to complete the building of Plaza Roberto Maestas. So far we have raised $43,500We need your help to sell 1,300 bricks by the end of this year.

Mil gracias to Sarah Stuteville for interviewing us about how we are addressing the need for affordable housing by building Plaza Roberto Maestas. Her article appeared in The Seattle Globalist and The Seattle Times. We are honored by this visibility and the support we have received for this project.

On a devastating note, we were heartbroken to learn of the murder of long-time friend, activist, community leader and International District Emergency Center (IDEC) Director Donnie Chin. Mil gracias to Donnie for his tireless work in the community. Let his dedication be an inspiration to us all.

Respetuosamente,
Estela
