The match against Team B was some exciting volleyball! All 3 sets were played with The Eagles coming from behind to even out at 1-1 forcing a 3rd set which ended with a final score of 16-14 PCDS. The energy was exhilarating and the cheers from the crowd were invigorating!

DON'T FORGET TO DOWNLOAD OUR APP!
IMG_4955Have you downloaded the Horizon Honors app yet? It is a one stop shop for school information and news when you are on the go! Find the link to order lunches, call in your child's absence, receive important alerts in the event of an emergency, and much more!

One important area in the app is called "Quick Tip." This is allows students and other community members to anonymously report a concern or problem to their school principal. Users can upload files, including photos/screenshots. Quick Tip is another important tool in keeping our community safe.

We strongly suggest that not only parents download the app, but grandparents, care givers, and students with smart phones also download it.

The app is available for both Apple and Android smartphones by searching for "Horizon Honors" or using the following links:

STUDENT AMBASSADORS IN TRAINING
During ILPs almost a hundred of our 3rd-6th Grade students completed an online application and participated in their first job interview for the role of Student Ambassador.  Student Ambassadors are often times our "first impression" for outside guests and potential families.  Ambassadors work in pairs to guide the visitors on a tour of our community, highlighting the unique and extraordinary aspects of our school.  Students were selected based on their online application, interview scores, and teacher feedback.  Our new Student Ambassadors are now meeting weekly to learn as much as they can about the school and the various grade levels so they can be prepared to start touring after the break.  We are proud to introduce your 2017-2018 Horizon Honors Student Ambassadors: Abbi, Ainsley, Alivia, Ana Lucia, Anderson, Annika, Antonio, Aubrey, Audrey, Autumn, Brooke, Cali, Camille, Charlie, Chloe, Clover, Eliana, Ella, Elly, Finn, Gabe, Gabrielle, Gavrielle, Grace, Greer, Isabella, Iván, Jonah, Josie, Julianna, Kalyn, Kathryn, Katia, Kayli, Kyrah, Leslie, Makenna, Maya, Millie, Molly, Naya, Noah, Parker, Rylee, Tanner, Taya, Trent, Zack, Zoe.

MESSAGE FROM STUDENT COUNCIL: BIDS FOR KIDS
Bids for Kids (2)
Hello, Students and Friends of all ages! Do you know about Bids for Kids? ALL of Horizon Honor’s awesome and expensive technology comes from This AMAZING Drive and auction called BIDS FOR KIDS. WE NEED YOU to help us get the money!

The drive started on Tuesday, September 5th.You’re probably thinking, wow this is going to be another boring drive, but don’t you worry... this is no ordinary drive. This is a COMPETITION! Will your grade be the one that meets your Chromebook goal? WHO KNOWS?

All the money that you donate will go into buying the school more Chromebooks. Like we said, this is a competition through grade levels! In order for this to begin, you will need a team! Here is how it works: your team is your grade level, and the goal is to reach your master goal of donation money! Donate as much as you can to see which grade level WILL TRIUMPH.

Remember, all the money you earn goes into YOUR grade levels technology! The teams are K,1-2,3-4,5-6,and 7-12.Your goal is to donate as much money as possible to buy computers for just your team. For example, let’s say you are in 5-6. All of the money that 5-6 earns will go to 5-6 AND ONLY 5-6. Remember, every donation big or small makes a difference! SO GO OUT THERE AND DONATE! Each team needs the following amounts to purchase the carts and Chromebooks: Kinder needs to raise $31,400.00 1-2: needs to raise $19,256.00 3-4: needs to raise $19,256.00, and 5-6: needs to raise $42,576.00. On your mark, get set go!
