5-6 GIRLS VOLLEYBALL UPDATE
An amazing week for the 5/6 Girls Volleyball Team! The girls started with a fast win over Gilbert Christian on Monday ending at 25-13 and 25-10. It's so great to see them improve from week to week and working as a team.

At their first away game, they came determined to take back the win against Phoenix Country Day School. After last week's loss against Team B, they wanted victory! The match against Team A went to 3 sets: HH 25-7, PCDS 15-25, HH winning the match at 15-4. The girls set their eyes on teamwork and focus and they won against Team B in two sets: 25-15 and 25-6. Thanks to all the parents and fans who drove in traffic to support these girls!

Don't miss an opportunity to see them play, the season will soon come to a close. Next home cheering opportunity on Monday, 10/2 @ 3:30 p.m.against Scottsdale Christian.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS IN TRAINING
During ILPs almost a hundred of our 3rd-6th Grade students completed an online application and participated in their first job interview for the role of Student Ambassador.  Student Ambassadors are often times our "first impression" for outside guests and potential families.  Ambassadors work in pairs to guide the visitors on a tour of our community, highlighting the unique and extraordinary aspects of our school.  Students were selected based on their online application, interview scores, and teacher feedback.  Our new Student Ambassadors are now meeting weekly to learn as much as they can about the school and the various grade levels so they can be prepared to start touring after the break.  We are proud to introduce your 2017-2018 Horizon Honors Student Ambassadors: Abbi, Ainsley, Alivia, Ana Lucia, Anderson, Annika, Antonio, Aubrey, Audrey, Autumn, Brooke, Cali, Camille, Charlie, Chloe, Clover, Eliana, Ella, Elly, Finn, Gabe, Gabrielle, Gavrielle, Grace, Greer, Halle, Isabella, Iván, Jonah, Josie, Julianna, Kalyn, Kathryn, Katia, Kayli, Kyrah, Leslie, Makenna, Maya, Millie, Molly, Naya, Noah, Parker, Rylee, Tanner, Taya, Trent, Zack, Zoe.Student Ambassadors (2)

COIN COLLECTION UPDATE!
As of Wednesday, September 21st, our Elementary has already collected over $500 in change.  We will continue to collect coins through the end of the quarter.  Our goal is to reach $1,000!  A huge thank you to everyone, who has participated so far.  Please keep bringing in your spare change!.

Family Application Problem:
So far Horizon Honors Elementary has collected(1) silver dollar, (882) quarters, (1,402) dimes, (1,230) nickels, and (7,352) pennies for their coin drive.  The total of this change is what was collected in only 8 days.  We now have 12 days left in the quarter.  Is it possible to meet our goal?  Explain your reasoning.

DON'T FORGET TO DOWNLOAD OUR APP!
Have you downloaded the Horizon Honors app yet? It is a one stop shop for school information and news when you are on the go! Find the link to order lunches, call in your child's absence, receive important alerts in the event of an emergency, and much more!

One important area in the app is called "Quick Tip." This is allows students and other community members to anonymously report a concern or problem to their school principal. Users can upload files, including photos/screenshots. Quick Tip is another important tool in keeping our community safe.

We strongly suggest that not only parents download the app, but grandparents, care givers, and students with smart phones also download it.

The app is available for both Apple and Android smartphones by searching for "Horizon Honors" or using the following links:
