It's been a great spring so far. We've been busy...

Throughout everything, athletes have shown incredible teamwork and persistance athletes. One teacher, in describing one of the RVR athletes, shared that...


"I have never seen a student make such a drastic change in a year. The improvement has been amazing".

 

Coaches, parents, and other staff agree - the skills athletes develop at practice have shown up throughout their day-to-day lives.

 


 

 

 

  

 News from the Coach's Launch...

 

The season has been terrific for everyone - athletes have competed in local and regional races, including a trip to Brentwood in Canada for several of the RVR boys. From beach launching down in Vancouver to mastering sculling out on Lake Washington, athletes have handled every challenge that has come their way.

The final race of the season, Northwest Junior Regionals, will be held in two weeks (May 14-16) in Vancouver, WA. RVR athletes are gearing up to row and cox, sweep and scull, and generally enjoying the last few weeks of spring rowing. See you out on the water!

 Stay Tuned...

RVR will be featured on The Seattle Channel's CityStream program later this month. The program will be hosted at the Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center, and will include interviews with RVR athletes and Program Director Karla Landis, as well as regatta and practice footage.

There are more exciting developments on the horizon, including indoor rowing in Seattle Public Schools and additional summer opportunities on the water. It's all part of the George Pocock Foundation's exciting youth development initiative Row to the Future. Look for more details soon!
