Hot Topics to Rotate Between Three Cities


Supervisor Parker’s Monday night Hot Drinks, Hot Topics meeting will be rotating between the cities of Seaside, Marina, and Salinas during the 2012 calendar year.

 

You are invited to come and meet with Jane as she reviews interesting items from the Board agenda. She is available to talk about hot issues, discuss your concerns, and listen to your ideas and suggestions.

 

Because there is no Board of Supervisors’ Meeting next week, Supervisor Parker will not be holding a Hot Drinks and Hot Topics session on Monday, January 16.

 

Meetings will be held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Monday of each month, rotating as follows:

February

13th: Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside

27th: Portobello's in Salinas

12th: Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside

19th: Mountain Mike's Pizza in Marina

26th: Portobello's in Salinas

 

April

9th: Me-N-Ed's Pizza in Seaside

16th: Mountain Mike's Pizza in Marina

23rd: Portobello's in Salinas

 

Meetings are 5:30 PM-6:30 PM. We will post the schedule at janeparker.org and issue announcements throughout the year to remind people of the rotation.


Supervisor Parker to Speak on Panel at the Democratic Women for Monterey County Luncheon


On January 19, Jane will join a panel speaking on:

 

Women in a Discussion not Intended for Her: The Experiences of Elected Women

 

Also included in the panel are Jan Shriner (Director for Board of Marina Coast Water District), Erica Padilla Chavez (President, Hartnell College Board of Trustees), and Brenda Lewis (Monterey Peninsula Water Management District).

 

Women have made a lot of progress in our political system locally as well as across the country. Still, women are under-represented in elected office. Come learn about the challenges and successes of four local elected women.

Each week before a Board of Supervisors Meeting, Jane hosts a public meeting to review the upcoming Board agenda and listen to the thoughts and priorities of residents who attended. 

 
Seaside: Me 'n Ed's Pizza (2nd Mon.)
Marina: Mountain Mike's Pizza (3rd Mon.)
Salinas: Portobello's (4th Mon.)
 
When: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm on Monday’s prior to weekly Board of Supervisor Meetings.
