Why Suit Therapy? I remember telling one parent about “suit therapy” only to realize she had no idea what I was talking about! She was envisioning a three-piece suit! The Neurosuit is an effective orthotic device—made of a vest, shorts and knee pads. Each piece connected to the others and to shoes by rubber bungees. These bungees are carefully placed and adjusted to each individual to meet their therapeutic needs. Our daughter had a difficult time placing her right foot straight and getting a heel strike. Through use of the NeuroSuit, therapists were able to correct her gait and teach her brain and muscles correct movement patterns. Now she knows how it feels to walk correctly and can then make necessary corrections when needed. I’m not sure she would have been able to do that without experiencing suit therapy. The benefits of the NeuroSuit are many: strengthening, alignment, proprioception, increased support…come and see for yourself. Even parents can try it on… it’s an experience everyone should have! Now I Can is happy to offer mild hyperbaric therapy. Many parents have sought out this treatment and found it effective in reducing tone, improving endurance, increasing vocabulary and helping improve other areas in their children. Now I Can is happy to offer $50 dives (one hour treatments) during the first quarter of 2010. Consultations will be provided by Dr. Joseph Humpherys.
