Gratitude
large_box_top.gif
November, the month where most of us gather with family and friends and celebrate each other, our gifts and talents, and express our gratitude for the blessings we've received and share a meal together.
Kick off the celebration of family and friends and visit us this Friday, November 6 from 5-9pm for First Fridays- Kids Night Out.  We will be serving samples of our Fair Trade Chocolate, and the store is chocked-full of great holiday gift ideas.  Even though the weather has been remarkable, stock up on hats, scarves, gloves and mittens.  We're expecting another hard winter!

Our Holiday Open House is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 10am to 4pm.  We will be joining our neighbors Beehive Salon, Buttons and Bows, and Marigolds for "Shop the Boulevard with Santa."  Come checkout the demonstrations, specials offers, prizes and, of course, Santa!

Local Partner
Robinson Community Learning Center

The Robinson Community Learning Center (RCLC) was started in 2001 as an off-campus educational initiative of the President’s Office at the University of Notre Dame in partnership with Northeast Neighborhood residents of South Bend.  After school activities, English classes, exercise programs, computers for seniors, and a violence reduction program for teens are just a few of their offerings.  Visit their website for more information on how you can get involved.
Partner of the Month
Casa Maya

casamaya

Lovely, handmade, semi-precious jewelry made by a women's cooperative in the village of Panajab, near Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.  As a direct result of Casa Maya, the coop members no longer migrate with the coffee harvest, allowing both the women and their children to remain in their village and continue their schooling.  Casa Maya also supports recycling and water filtration in their village, creating a cleaner and sustainable living environment for the entire community.
