Celebrate Us!

Governor Paterson issued a Proclamation to designate March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in New York State. Established in 1978 by the President's Committee on People with Intellectual Disabilities, the honor recognizes the accomplishments of the thousands of individuals across the state.

To commemorate this event, Saratoga Bridges will celebrate with:

- Irish Times, Parting Glass and Celtic Treasures in Saratoga Springs will be selling $1.00 ‘Buck for Luck’ shamrocks with 100% of proceeds benefiting Saratoga Bridges. Be sure to visit those locations to make your donations or you can simply make a donation at www.saratogabridges.org and click "Donate Now"

- Creative Endeavors Arts Center, located at 49 Front Street, will be participating in the Village of Ballston Spa’s First Friday on March 5 from 6-9pm. They will be having the Grand Opening for the Executive's Closet, which is a consignment boutique. Also there will be a display of fashion-related photography from their Saratoga Photo Club in the gallery, the gift shop will feature handmade crafts and artwork by their artists and they will be participating in the village-wide luminaries’ project.

- There will be a month long display at the Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, located at 297 Broadway, across from Congress Park.

- The Phantoms Hockey team at the Glens Falls Civic Center will feature a Saratoga Bridges information booth at their March 6 game against the Binghamton Senators. Discount tickets are available by calling 518.587.0723 or stopping in the office located at 16 Saratoga Bridges Blvd. 50% of proceeds benefiting Saratoga Bridges. Hurry limited # of tickets available.

- Saratoga Bridges will also have an information table at the Wilton Mall during the Albany/Saratoga Speedway Car show March 19-21.

- The Palm Sunday Polka Benefit will be held on Sunday March 28 from 2-6pm at the Saratoga Knights of Columbus. Music will be performed by “Polka Country Musicians” from Jewett City, CT. Advance tickets are $13.00 until March 15 or $15.00 at the door. Food and Alcohol provided from 4-6 by K of C staff, Eddie Grzyb’s Polka Recordings will be on Sale, Easter raffles & baskets, prizes and 50-50 Drawing.
