Thank you and farewell
Dear friend,
As some of you may already know, today is my last day as Program Director of Aspiration. For over five and a half years, I have grown with this very special organization and network. I'm writing you with a heart full of gratitude.
During my time, I have been surrounded by the most talented and giving folks in the nonprofit and technology fields. Many of you have shared your work and hearts with me every step of the way.
Aspiration would not be where it is without the incredible network surrounding us. What I will miss most are the treasured moments shared with people like you. Whether we were planning sessions for an event, traveling together, or celebrating each other in closing circle, thank you for the memories.
I started in 2011 as our Program Coordinator to provide technology support to Central Valley nonprofits working with underserved communities in rural California. Thank you to all those who have been with us since then and to those who have joined us along the way to form the statewide network.
With the help of nonprofits and activists across the state, we created the California Nonprofit Technology Festival, our series of participatory gatherings to foster emerging leadership and build technology capacity. These opportunities were a springboard to collaborating with people working for social justice in communities around the globe. From London to Jakarta and many stops in between, thank you for letting me work alongside you and learn from you.
My time here has been invaluable and I have learned more than I ever thought possible. This truly has felt like a family. Thank you Gunner, Josh, JC, Willow, Beatrice, Jack, and Matt for your commitment, wisdom, and friendship. Aspiration is a life-changing organization because of you.
Although it was hard for me to come to this decision, I am excited to apply all I have gained to continue to pursue my passions around cultivating community and leadership for social change. The Aspiration team welcomes any thoughts or questions from you about how to work together. I hope to see many of our collaborations continuing onward.
It has been a wild ride, and I could not have asked for a better group of people to have by my side.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Misty
