Just a quick reminder of the services that my colleagues and I offer.

We advise on difficult non-contentious  as well as contentious legal issues. We draft complex instruments for use in business as well as court. We mediate disputes as well appear on injunction applications and in other proceedings.

We can help you develop your expertise through CPD training.

Finally, we are a potential source of referrals from our clinics, inventors' clubs and networks in Yorkshire and the North West.

My Book is Out

I have made a table of recent intellectual property and other cases that I regard as important, together with links to the transcripts and various articles and case notes that I have written.

Issues discussed in those cases include anticipation and obviousness, what constitutes an enabling disclosure and the constriction of claims. The question whether Google AdWords infringes a registered trade mark has been referred to the European Court of Justice. The scope and exercise of the discretion to strike out arises in two cases.   More

We have updated last year's successful IP Foundation Course for general and commercial practitioners and assistants and trainees who intend to specialize in IP.

Initially we shall run the course in the Wirral on 7 Oct 2009 at 14:00, and Bradfordon 14 Oct at 14:00 but we intend to hold them in other regions later in the year.

Attendance earns 2.5 CPD points.

It was published by Gower in March. It has already enjoyed one favourable review. You can order a copy on-line by clicking here.

The book distils my 25 years experience of looking after start-ups and other small businesses in the North of England.

As I am often asked whether I got to the Patents Court, whether I have ever been before a hearing officer, whether I can draw up terms and conditions or review contracts, I have blogged my activities over the last month or so. More
