The BSCC is off to a strong start in 2012
carolyn_helblingThe year is still young but the BSCC has got off to a strong start in 2012 with our well-attended New Year Receptions in Basle and Zurich and a highly popular event in London in Swiss Re’s “Gherkin” on the Euro crisis. Further high-quality events are planned in the coming days in Geneva (the annual lunch with Henk Potts, as well as a traditional Burn’s Night celebration) and in Zurich, London and Zug.

DSC03201With a title like that, it is understandable if some of our guests approached our first round table lunch of 2012 with a slight sense of trepidation. After all, the recent news about the Euro has been uniformly negative, with the prophets of doom taking centre stage. Bronwyn Curtis of HSBC was unfortunately prevented from taking part in the panel discussion due to illness, but Paul Meggyesi of J. P. Morgan ably carried the event on his own, providing our record audience of more than 90 with a realistic and truly fascinating overview of the difficult situation we now find ourselves in.
