The Career Center has expanded several of its programs and services to help prepare students as they begin to enter a tight, competitive job market.
Last fall, additional workshops on resume writing were presented, and a Resume Critique Day was held for the students. This spring, the Career Center has also increased the number of interview workshops for graduating students. Students attending will receive priority sign-up for Practice Interview Day on April 24.
Parents and family members who have experience in conducting employment-style interviews are encouraged to join our employers and SF State alumni to help us conduct mock interviews. Practice Interview Day will be held on April 24, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Jack Adams Hall. Lunch and a parking permit will be provided. Any amount of time you can donate will be greatly appreciated by our students.

E-mail Communications to Students in 2009-2010 Academic Year

Financial aid award offers will NOT be sent in the mail. Beginning late-March 2009 students should receive an e-mail communication from the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Encourage Students to Sign-up for Direct Deposit
Fiscal Affairs offers on-line Direct Deposit to students receiving financial aid disbursements. Students may choose to have their funds electroncially transferred to their bank or credit union accounts. If your student hasn't already signed up, we strongly encourage them to sign up for direct deposit at https://faweb.sfsu.edu/fa/student. Definitely a more secure process, it may be a few days quicker at the beginning of the semester. We also encourage students to check on the same web site the status of their direct deposit and make sure their bank information is current.
