Get to Know Your SF State

From time to time, we will feature information regarding departments and services on campus which are critical to students on-campus experience. Below, you can learn about the University Police Department.

The University Police Department is a pro-active professional police agency dedicated to providing a safe environment for our campus community:

  • implemented a progressive community policing plan last year with our budgeted sworn complement of 38 officers.
  • will expand our traffic enforcement program to the entire area adjacent to the campus with particular focus on 19th/Holloway Avenue and Font Avenue/Lake Merced Boulevard at the entrance to Lots 19 and 20.
  • implemented the first campus Emergency Medical Technician Program in Spring 1997 to provide a higher level of emergency service to the campus community.
  • includes the Department of Public Safety, which consists of a group of dedicated professionals who strive to serve the academic environment and do it with pride.

Please take a look online at the new Emergency Preparedness Program.
