Culinary Experiences Greetings from the Kitchen Porch

Ahh... July on Martha's Vineyard.

Everyday we hope for a glimpse of the sun. It has rained almost every day of June and while the fields are green and lush the gardens just aren't producing as much as one would hope. Farmers are discouraged by slugs but the beets and bok choy are flourishing. Sweet peas, baby summer squash, chard, onions, and green tomatoes are abundant and tonight’s dinner is green garlic sautéed with basil and new baby squash… ahhh July…

July seduces us with sites of flaming campfires, star gazing, the sounds of slamming screen doors, the crickets and morning birds. The taste of July is simple, with perfectly ripe foods still warm from the vine.

John Bagnulo will be back for a 3 day workshop on July 29, 30, and 31st. John is amazing and we will teach you how to implement nutritional knowledge in your daily lives.
