Arizona Gives Day raised over $1.4 million!
For the second year, AGF partnered with the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits to present Arizona Gives Day. This year, over $1.4 million was raised to support over 960 participating nonprofits. Thanks to FirstBank, all the sponsors and all the donors for supporting this impactful event!

Flinn Foundation report charts latest progress for Arizona bioscience sector
Arizona’s bioscience industry now has 106,846 jobs generating an average wage of $62,775, which is 39 percent higher than the private-sector average, according to the Flinn Foundation’s bioscience roadmap released today.

ACF welcomes back Kimberly C. Kur, J.D., in a new capacity as Sr. Director of Philanthropic Services
Kimberly joins the Philanthropic Services team in building relationships with donors and professional advisors to advance philanthropy and charitable giving across Arizona and the many communities we serve.
Kimberly will also lead the implementation of a recently approved plan to enhance our statewide Affiliate network for greater long-term viability and sustainability. Read the full article.

Arizona enrollment via health insurance marketplace jumps in February
The Cover Arizona Coalition found that national enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace climbed to 4.2 million people in February; Arizona enrollment has reached 57,611. “Providing access to affordable health care will go a long way toward improving the overall health of our state,” said Kim Van Pelt of St. Luke’s Health Initiatives, a coordinating partner of the Cover Arizona Coalition. Community volunteer opportunities
First Things First partners with parents and communities to give more Arizona children the tools they need to start school healthy and ready to succeed! Decisions about which early education, health and family support programs to fund are made by local regional councils comprised of community volunteers. There are currently more than 150 seats open on First Things First regional councils statewide. SVP's Fast Pitch results!
Social Venture Partners 4th Annual Fast Pitch was a rousing success! Eight nonprofits pitched to a crowd of almost 400 with $37,000 won in prize money. Inspired funders in the audience gave an additional $30,000+ to the nonprofits of their choice.
The biggest news of the night being the announcement of Spot 127 as SVPAZ’s newest investee!
