AGF welcomes Matt BarbeyMB Headshot BW 5  

In August, Matt Barbey joined Arizona Grantmakers Forum as our member engagement intern. Matt attended the University of Arizona, where he earned a degree in finance. Since 2011, Matt has worked as an assistant project manager and development associate for Grossman Company Properties. He will support member outreach projects during his time at AGF, focusing on small and family foundations.

The Exponent Philanthropy CONNECT Conference

Arizona Grantmakers Forum has partnered with Exponent Philanthropy to bring the Exponent Philanthropy 2015 CONNECT conference to Chandler. CONNECT will be the nation’s largest gathering of small foundations in 2015. It offers an intimate and interactive learning opportunity where funders can dive deep into important trends and mission-critical topics. Intel, Arizona Public Service and Salt River Project sponsor STEM initiative for Native Americans

Intel Corporation, Science Foundation Arizona and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey recently announced a new initiative to provide STEM education to Native Americans in the state. This new science, technology, engineering and math public-private STEM education outreach initiative is geared toward helping the next generation of Navajo students. Charity Navigator names former Microsoft executive as president/CEO

Charity Navigator, a watchdog group that evaluates charities so that donors can make informed giving decisions, has announced the selection of Michael Thatcher as president and CEO. The third chief executive in the organization's 15-year history, Thatcher will succeed Ken Berger, who left the organization earlier this year.
