During the Second High Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation in Nairobi, Petra Kuenkel facilitated a side event on “Raising the bar for effective partnering”. Within the PEP initiative presented there, 17 effective partnering factors for 17 SDGs were identified. Petra Kuenkel stressed the issue of learning in partnerships. In 2016 CLI partnered with the International Water Stewardship Programme (IWaSP) to offer process coaching, capacity building, and  facilitation support  for the Lusaka Water Security Initiative (LuWSI) in Zambia. LuWSI’S objective is to improve water security and prevent a water crisis for Lusaka’s residents and businesses through multi-stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and action. As a result of LuWSI’s efforts, in an example project for wellfield protection, the water security of 80,000 people will be improved. Read more >>

In November, CLI conducted trainings for two groups from Morocco. The country is facing economic challenges, so scaling up collaboration skills among relevant partners is essential for the region. One group dealt with the topic of promoting micro-enterprises and auto-entrepreneurs, while the other one was focussing on disadvantaged regions. People from different sectors gathered to have a capacity building on how to engage the stakeholders in each GIZ project. Read more >>
 

 


The peak season for our open courses was between October and November, when CLI organised three trainings in three different cities. The Art of Leading Collectively in Potsdam kicked off with a strategic view on how we could bring sustainable change to the world. While the foundational trainings on The Art of Stakeholder Collaboration 1 which were taking place in Cape Town and in Berlin built collaboration capacities for achieving common goals. Read more >>

 Neues-Cover2 4 Petra Kuenkel’s list of publications grew significantly in 2016. Apart from the ground-breaking The Art of Leading Collectively which received great attention among the international publishing industry during Frankfurt Book Fair 2016, two books in German about Stakeholder Dialogues and Leading by Meaning were published at Springer. The latter one even made it on the Chinese list of German Book Office in Beijing. We are always happy to find reviews of our books online, feel free to write one!
