Announcing Tryout Dates for New Frozen Ropes 13u Travel Baseball Team

Now it's time for your son to move up to the 90ft diamond. It's a huge jump. Left field is now deep shortstop. At 60ft-6in, the pitches will actually be slower. Frozen ropes to the gaps will now be soft line outs to the middle infielders. 1st base is 50% farther.  Frozen Ropes will get your son better prepared to succeed at this level through our integrated training program for our new 13u travel team.

Frozen Ropes Travel Baseball Team Program Overview

Program Objectives:

  1. Primary goal is to provide a long term development program for 13 & 14 year olds to prepare them to perform the best they can at their 9th grade high school tryout and make their HS team. 15 & 18u teams will prepare them for varsity and college play.
  2. Winning will NOT be at the expense of a player's skill development or confidence level.
  3. Playing time will be divided FAIRLY, not equally throughout the roster.
  4. Coaches will be positive and will foster a nurturing environment during game and practice time. The program will have a zero toloerance policy on coaches and parents acting inappropriately during games.
  5. Provide year round skill development through small group, team and individual training focused on the following - core strength, conditioninig, explosiveness, hitting including visual elements, improving throwing velocity and arm injury prevention, fielding, pitching & catching, and Showtime Training- the mental aspects of playing at your highest level.

How is this program different than the traditional "travel" teams?

  1. Greater commitment to improving the individual skills of all players. Basebal players requires individual skills to be performed in a game environment.
  2. Healthier balance of time and costs with respect to games scheduled and skill-based training.
  3. Improved level of coaching by providing selected coaches with resources and a baseline of knowledge related to game strategies and game management.
  4. Individual skill instruction - throwing, hitting, fielding, pitching, catching - through the use of video analysis.
  5. Earlier introduction to the importance of academics and "reality" in the college selection process.
