Mindful Messaging
The media plays a large part in the lives of our children.  As caretakers, how do we help children understand the recent events that have taken place, not only in Dallas, but also around the country?

Our partners at Momentous recently published
3 Terrible Things the Election Is Teaching Your Child, for TIME magazine, addressing the political climate and the negative impact rhetoric often has for young people. A related article, When Bad Things Happen In The News shares advice for having tough conversations.
Student Outcomes Project
Dallas Afterschool is currently enrolling new sites into our Student Outcomes Project!

The student outcomes research project (SOP) is entering it's fourth year as a longitudinal  study that aims to connect program quality with student outcomes in the academic and  social-emotional arenas. The SOP has two functions: 1) to connect afterschool programs  to student data and 2) to evaluate and improve Dallas Afterschool's effectiveness. This  study is conducted in partnership with SMU's Center on Research and Evaluation.
