questions
The winter holidays are a great time to check in on your program successes so far. As your program wraps up this month, consider speaking with students and staff about their experiences and loop in some evaluative questions:
  • What worked especially well this semester?
  • What, if anything, is missing from the program?
  • What should you do differently next semester?
  • What outstanding moments would you highlight from this semester?
Remember to follow up on the concerns that are brought up; listening is important, but actively addressing the concerns builds trust and improves your program at the same time!

Plan for Success

Please share the following resource with your parents:

"Dallas City allows for school of choice. However, sometimes making the right decision for your family can be a daunting task requiring hours of research on traditional public schools, magnet schools and programs, and charter schools. To assist parents and increase the capacity of neighborhoods, Children at Risk has developed Texas School Guide to rank schools and to serve as a one-stop-shop for parents as they navigate these systems.
Texas School Guide has three main goals.

1. Understand How Local Schools are Performing
2. Become Aware of their School Options
3. Become Advocates for High Quality Public Schools

You can access the interactive map at http://texasschoolguide.org/ or http://www.guiadelasescuelas.org/ and get to know how your neighborhood schools rank. You are also welcome to request a workshop on how to use the guide from a Children at Risk representative.  Call 214-599-0072 or send an email TexasSchoolGuide@childrenatrisk.org"

The Susan Crown Exchange team is excited to announce we are opening applications to identify afterschool program partners for our next Digital Learning Challenge. The application process for program partners for the Digital Learning Challenge will open on January 2 and close on January 20. You may receive additional information by signing up for their newsletter.
