Caitlin's Book of the Month
As you may or may not know, Caitlin Carney, our office bibliophile and creator of the Book of the Month section is currently enjoying her newlywed status in India. However, she could not leave before giving us her recommendations at the beginning of the month. Program Quality Initiative (PQI) Spotlight
In honor of national engineering week, the global engineering construction company FLUOR, partnered with Science Buddies to sponsor a balloon powered car challenge. “Aquamarine Girls” and “Dash!” were two of the teams with successful trials, their innovative designs are pictured here.

Safety First
This month, Dallas Afterschool invites you to our Safety Supply Giveaway on Wednesday, March 25th between 9:00am and noon. Stop by our office for a variety of free first aid items for your organization and see the entire PQI team. Come on by and stock up on your safety materials. We’d love to see you here!
Resource Corner!
Interfaith’s recent visit to the Texas Discovery Gardens was a blast! Students enjoyed exploring the diversity of nature life the garden has to offer which included: a visit to the butterfly habitat, wildlife pond and various botanical collections. Partnership Opportunities

The Be Project of Family Place is a team of educators and counselors that provide age and culturally appropriate violence prevention education for 3rd -12th grade, as well as for college students, that focuses on building healthy relationships and the prevention of various forms of relational aggression, including dating violence, sexual violence, bullying, and cyber-bullying.  They provide a 6-week education program as well as therapeutic group programs and one-time awareness presentations on any of the previously listed topics.

Lauren Jones has accepted the role as Process Quality Initiative Manager. Lauren has been a Quality Advisor with Dallas Afterschool for four years and has a deep knowledge of the AQuA tool, best practices in afterschool programming and our partners. Here , Lauren offers some insight of how her experience has prepared her for her new role.
